Tilly said "this piece is a portrait study from when I went back home during the summer. It stemmed from the feeling of detachment I had while at home; being back in my childhood bedroom and feeling like I didn’t quite fit there anymore, and wondering where in the world I did fit - so the self portrait was my way of grounding myself and putting myself back in my body."
